Pete Townshend reached a Name-Image Likeness deal. Primary Wave will acquire certain music rights from Townshend, in addition to working with Spirit Music to place The Who's catalog in movies and TV shows.  

Over in England, The Royal Mint launched a new commemorative coin  honoring Pink Floyd.  It features the prism from the cover of Dark Side.  Previous artists honored with coins as part of their Music Legends series include  David Bowie, George Michael, Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Paul McCartney, and Freddie Mercury.

Billy Idol will receive a lifetime achievement award at the American Music Awards. 

The World Cup final, which is on July 19th,  will feature a Super Bowl-style halftime show.  Your headliners:  Madonna, Shakira, and the Korean boy-band BTS.

Other music/sports stuff:  Jordin Sparks will perform the National Anthem before the Indianapolis 500 next weekend.
