John Mellencamp played a special warm up show in Evansville, Indiana last night, to get ready for  his upcoming Dancing Words tour. Admission was free as long as you brought a non-perishable food item to donate.  During the set, Mellencamp broke out a few songs he hasn’t played in awhile, including his cover of “Wild Night” along with “Love and Happiness” and “R.O.C.K in the USA”.  There are no PA dates on the tour, but Mellencamp is coming to Holmdel, NJ on July 25th.  

Justin Bieber and Shakira are going to perform at halftime of the World Cup final on July 19th. Madonna is also expected to perform.

Huey Lewis says music is no longer a part of his life, thanks to his hearing loss.  "I can't find pitch in the music.

Finally, congratulations to Ringo Starr, who got an honorary doctorate of music from Liverpool University on his 86th birthday earlier this week.
